NATIONAL DONUT DAY~Free Doughnuts at Krispy Kreme

A few weeks ago Shaira and I took our kids to Krispy Kreme for National donut day. It is always the first Friday in June and was originally started during World War 1. Our kids always enjoy being together, especially Preston and Karis.

It's baseball season at The Lawrence house!

We are playing ball, Kent is coaching and Preston is LOVING it! Of course I have not found a sport yet the boy doesn't love. I remember growing up going to more baseball games than I could count watching my brother and his friends. I loved it then and I love it now - Preston reminds me so much of #2 Bad Brad

Phil.1:21-23 reads "For me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me. Yet what shall I choose? I do not know! I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better." This scripture suggests immediate departure of the soul after death and it gives us comfort to know that Jess is already in Heaven beside her Pops and Nani. In 2 Cor 5:8, Paul states "We really want to be away from this body and be home with the Lord." Again, we are reassured that Jess is home with the Lord! In a book that we received called "For these Tough Times" by Max Lucado, he states, "We do not like to say good-bye to those we love. But if what the Bible says about Heaven is true, then the ultimate answered prayer is Heaven." "It is right for us to weep, but there is no need for us to despair. They had pain here. They have no struggles there. You and I might wonder why God took them home. But they don't. They understand. They are, at this moment, at peace in the presence of God". And these comforting words tell us that Jessica did not LOSE the battle with her cancer but WON. She is not only healed again, she is in Heaven and that is a Victory.

Summer Days

Does this bring back memories of carefree summer days? I miss those days, no worries, long days, playing all morning and afternoon, swimming, no real schedule. I LOVED SUMMERTIME when I was a kid!
